Regional Water Conservation Policy


Plano will assume regional leadership regarding water issues and work with North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) member organizations to encourage more efficient water use and conservation.

Promote local responsible use of water through the city’s Water Management Plan, in conformance with the NTMWD Water Conservation Plan.

Participate in regional planning activities to prepare for predicted future drought conditions.

  1. Follow recommended watering guidelines during normal conditions; and
  2. Achieve compliance with water restrictions during drought and emergency water conditions.
